Believe me when I tell you that this road bike is serious. Although it’s a little more expensive than most entry level bikes you’d be well served investing slightly more and reaping the rewards. The bike is really light (although, if you were to swap the wheels for alloys it would be even lighter) so getting on and off public transport is a doddle. The SAVA Warwinds 3.0 uses a high quality Japanese carbon fiber frame. This frame curves in several areas adding to the space age look of this bike. The frame is a combination of grey, black and silver with some branding on several areas. The bike weighs a cool 9.6kgs so it’s one of the lightest reviewed to date. With such a lightweight road bike you can be sure you’re not dragging extra weight with you when travelling up hills and guarantees a power efficient ride. The frame isn’t the only area of the bike that is made from carbon fiber, the fork and seat post are both carbon fiber and go to show that the bike was designed with minimum weight in mind.

The dropped handlebars on the SAVA Warwinds 3.0 are made from aluminum and feature the Shimano Sora 3000 derailleur shifters linked to the Shimano Sora 18 speed derailleur gear system. This gives the rider full control over the gearing mechanism and offers smooth transitioning between gears. The SAVA Warwinds 3.0 road bike come with aluminum wheels with 40mm double walled rims. The bike does not come with pedals so you will need to source these from somewhere else.

As this bike is designed for advanced users perhaps they take the position that the serious rider would not be happy with generic pedals. It’s difficult to say but well worth noting you’ll need to buy some, however don’t worry as they can be picked up for a small sum of money. The saddle provided is an ultra thin leather saddle, it’s comfortable to sit on and adjustable to allow the rider to find the best position for them. Overall the body of this bike is phenomenal and really goes to show what you can get in terms of materials used and quality components if you’re willing to part with the cash.

The brakes on the SAVA Warwinds 3.0 road bike are very responsive and offer the rider exactly what they need when engaged. The bike quickly comes to a halt due to the combination with high quality tires on the bike. The brakes are V brakes which are a side-pull version of cantilever brakes. As they are V brakes you’ll need to keep an eye on the brake pads to make sure they’re in good condition as you go but if configured correctly and aligned centrally they should last you a long time if you avoid excessively hard braking.

This bike comes with some really nice tires. The SAVA Warwinds 3.0 creators decided to avoid the usual pattern of providing ‘good enough’ tires and letting the owner upgrade if they wish and instead bring Michelin 700c x 25c Dynamic Sport tires as standard with the SAVA Warwinds 3.0 road bike. The traction on these tires is great, they’re designed to give good grip but avoid unnecessary drag, after all this is a lightweight racing road bike after all. They achieve this aim well and respond well to corners and braking without causing the rider to work harder on flats or hills.

The saddle on the SAVA Warwinds 3.0 road bike along with the dropped handlebars combine to give the rider a very comfortable position especially when both can be adjusted to suit the individual. Road bikes aren’t great for comfort due to the lack of suspension however with these quality sports tires, saddle and handlebars they’ve given it a good go and somewhat achieved a good ride comfort, especially on flat smooth surfaces. The fluid gear changes also help avoid unnecessary jolts when shifting gears which in turn adds again to the riders overall experience on the bike.

This bike is a favourite here, it comes with 3 years warranty on the frame and 6 months warranty on the components and is available in blue, orange or red if you’re not so keen on the grey shown here. We think it’s a winner but what do you think?

More Information Regarding Carbon Road Bikes Under $2000 (2024)

Why Choose A Carbon Fiber Bike Frame?

There are many reasons why you might want to purchase a carbon fiber bike frame. For one, carbon fiber is stronger than steel. It also weighs less and therefore takes less effort to propel yourself forward. This means you'll be able to ride your bike farther and for a longer period of time with less fatigue. If you want to do some hard training on your bike, a carbon fiber frame can be a great investment. Compared to a steel frame, a carbon fiber frame can also be more aerodynamic. This is due to the interesting shapes that carbon fiber can be made into. Unlike steel which usually comes in rods. Meaning shaping the material can be somewhat limited.

Carbon Fiber Road Bikes Are Durable

The biggest benefit of carbon fiber is that it is extremely durable. According to VeloNews, one of the few problems with carbon fiber is its cost. To produce a frame with carbon fiber will cost more than with steel or aluminum. So for most serious cyclists, the added expense isn’t a problem. But there are other benefits that come with carbon fiber. When carbon fiber frames are hit hard by impacts and falls they’re usually just strong as they were before the crash. In summation, carbon fiber can make a light, yet very resilient frame.

Carbon Fiber Road Bikes Are Lightweight

Carbon fiber is some of the lightest materials on the market. Which means that carbon fiber road bikes can be very light. A carbon fiber road bike with an advanced frame and components can weigh less than 150 lbs. And a lighter bike can be a lot more comfortable to ride. When comparing weight to other carbon road bike frame materials, carbon fiber is one of the lightest. Carbon fiber components can last much longer.

Carbon Fiber Road Bikes Are Strong

Strong and light are a perfect combination for making a road bike. In order to make a strong, light frame it is important to build the frame to best support the rider's weight. Road bikes with a light frame are usually less expensive and often of higher quality. A lighter frame is lighter and stiffer. A stiffer frame is better at absorbing the stresses of riding a bike, which can translate into a faster ride. However, a light frame also means the frame is less rigid and riders often have to alter the way the bike moves in order to make the bike more comfortable for themselves and their bike.

Carbon Fiber Road Bikes Are Fast

Carbon fiber is an excellent material for making racing bikes because it's light weight and strong. It is also much more resistant to heat than traditional steel. For road bikes, that means carbon fiber bikes are able to handle faster speeds and more challenging terrain than a traditional steel bike. Carbon fiber is a mainstay on the UCI (International Cycling Union) WorldTour calendar, and has been for several years. So, if you’re looking for a new road bike, look for one made from carbon fiber instead. The UCI WorldTour events typically attract high-level riders from around the world, and include many of the fastest-selling carbon road bikes.

Carbon Fiber Road Bikes Are Responsive

One of the most important things to consider when purchasing a road bike is responsive handling. A road bike should be comfortable to ride and responsive enough to be ridden fast. Carbon fiber is a lighter and more flexible material than steel and aluminum. Therefore, a carbon fiber frame is much more supple and offers much better shock absorption. Because of this, a carbon fiber frame is much better at absorbing and dispersing road bike's windblast, giving you a smoother and quieter ride. Carbon Fiber Bike Performance Carbon fiber material’s unique molecular structure gives it amazing strength and lightness. It's incredibly light sometimes weighing in at only 21 grams per square meter.

Carbon Fiber Road Bikes Cost Less Than $2000

As with most things, there is a balance to be struck when looking to spend less than $2000 on a new road bike. A general rule of thumb is that a carbon fiber bike will cost you more than a non-carbon road bike. However there are some incredible bikes that offer stellar value for the money. In fact, we've found some of the best carbon road bikes that will fit your budget of $2000 or less. More on that below.

Are Carbon Fiber Road Bikes Comfortable?

Carbon fiber is surprisingly stiff. While this stiffness may be beneficial in racing and other highly-strung sports, it isn't ideal for everyday cycling. When riding a carbon fiber road bike, you might experience stiffness where your hands rest on the handlebars, or stiffness in your seat post. This isn't necessarily a deal-breaker, but it's worth keeping in mind if you want a comfortable ride. Carbon fiber bikes are typically stiffer than other road bikes, so your legs and butt will need to work harder to get a good fit.

Are Carbon Fiber Road Bikes Better Than Steel Road Bikes?

Compared to steel, carbon fiber road bikes are a lighter option. Carbon fiber road bikes offer improved stability and a more responsive ride. While the biggest difference between carbon fiber and steel road bikes is durability and strength. Other things become clear when comparing the two too. In fact, there are more similarities than differences between carbon fiber road bikes and steel road bikes. Steel is heavier than carbon fiber and its parts can be prone to corrosion, particularly after being in the sun for a prolonged period of time. On the other hand, carbon fiber road bikes require less maintenance than steel road bikes.

Are Carbon Fiber Road Bikes Better Than Aluminum Road Bikes?

Aluminum is used extensively in bike frames. However carbon fiber can be a better option for a range of reasons, including strength and durability. That being said, aluminum does have its advantages, including weight and cost.
